Disney Cruise Line Adding DisneyBand+ Wearable Technology to Ships

Disney
Cruise Line (DCL) announced the popular MagicBand+ technology used at the Walt
Disney World and Disneyland resorts will soon be available on all its ships.

Disney officials said the technology—now dubbed DisneyBand+
by DCL—would first be available for preview on select Disney Wish sailings
before it officially debuts. The device will allow passengers to enjoy the hands-free
conveniences of wearable technology.

With three DCL-exclusive designs, DisneyBand+ is an optional
add-on not included in the cruise fare and will be the perfect accessory for a
cruise vacation with its water-proof design.

The rechargeable DisneyBand+ will make unlocking a stateroom
door or charging food and souvenirs to an account as easy as tapping your
wrist. Travelers can also link photos taken on the ship to their stateroom
account, making it easier to view and purchase them during the cruise.

The wearable technology allows passengers to discover
enchanting surprises throughout the voyage. Children age three and up can also
use the bands instead of the Oceaneer Club Band to access kids’ clubs, such as
the Oceaneer Club while onboard and Scuttle’s Cove at Castaway Cay.

In March, DCL and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) agreed
to homeport a brand-new
Disney cruise ship exclusively in Singapore for at least five years
beginning in 2025. Officials are expected to reveal details about the maiden
voyage, itineraries and onboard experiences at a later date.

DCL also revealed the inaugural 2024
dates and select itineraries for Lighthouse Point, its newest island
destination in The Bahamas. Disney Magic will sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida,
to the cruise line’s newest beach retreat on the Bahamian island of Eleuthera
starting next June.
